Hello and welcome to my Blog about visiting the US for the first time. I hope I can give you some insight and tips on what you can expect as a first-time visitor to the US and that you can come away feeling more comfortable if you decide to visit here as either a tourist, a student or a potential citizen!! The picture below is one I took at Mesa Verde National Park, and it is one of many cliff dwellings that are found there. The Native Americans are really the building blocks of what we are today, and I give them honor and respect for the trials and tribulations they endured on our way to becoming America. In this blog I hope to ease the mind of a first-time visitor to the US and give you honest opinions and experiences and what life is like here.

The US is a large and diverse country filled with many different cultures and people. Understanding what to expect and not feeling anxious about your visit will help you enjoy everything the US has to offer. I hope to dispel some of what social media and news sources around the world portray about the people who live and work in the US.
You may be wondering as to why I would take my time to write this, and I will explain that right now!! I recently went on my first trip to Mexico for a vacation and was feeling rather anxious because my whole life I had built a vision in my mind what Mexico would be like based on what I had read in the news and watched on tv shows and movies. I started doing web searches for blogs and articles to find out what to expect once I was there, and I felt it was very helpful gaining this knowledge. People were accurate!! I did not get gunned down by the Cartel nor did I get sick from the food. I was not treated poorly because I was an American. The people were wonderful, kind and talkative. The country was full of energy and filled with beautiful things to see and do. So here I am hoping to help give some insight into the US and its people.
Let me start with The US really is a diverse nation. Our people come from all over the world and that’s what makes it so unique here. My family is a great example. My mother is full German, with my grandfather being a German immigrant. My father is of Irish and Native American decent. My Brothers wife is Japanese their daughter is married to a man who is Filipino. My wife has a sister whose significant other is from Serbia, and a brother whose significant other is Native American. A family photo in my family truly shows a tiny slice of the US diversity!! When you arrive here you will notice immediately that you are in a land full many different nationalities!!!
